TSGE’s committees are where the work gets done — shaping education, advocacy, outreach and member programs across Texas. Every committee is open to TSGE members, and most meet by video a few times a year. Find the one that fits your practice and your interests, then reach out to join.
GI Women
A place for female TSGE members to have their voices heard and their concerns addressed. The committee identifies and evaluates issues affecting women in GI, supports the advancement of female gastroenterologists within TSGE, and offers mentorship, leadership development, and a path into advocacy and the legislative process.
APP
Calling all GI advanced practice providers. Network with APPs across Texas and make a difference in your profession through committee activities. The committee is building an in-depth education track at TSGE’s annual meeting highlighting the topics APPs care about most, and hosts its own webinar series.
Academic Task Force
Bringing Texas academic GI programs together through projects focused on fellows and junior faculty — featuring different programs’ grand rounds by live stream, developing a mentorship program, and tapping program directors across the state for input. This task force is focused on the future TSGE member.
Independent Practice
Are you a solo practitioner or part of a small practice? TSGE wants to know what you need and how it can help. This committee is gaining insight into Texas’ GI “micro” practices and produces practical recorded sessions on topics such as billing services, ancillary revenue and in-office procedures.
Legislative
More of how we practice gastroenterology is decided at the state Capitol than most Texas gastroenterologists realize. The Legislative Committee builds relationships with legislators and policymakers and educates them on the delivery of optimal digestive healthcare to all Texans.
Membership
Do you know other GIs around the state? Then this is the committee for you. The growth of TSGE’s membership is vitally important to its continued success, and who better to help reach colleagues than the members who already know them. Be a part of making TSGE the best of the best.
Communications
This group develops social media, newsletter and marketing materials for TSGE and researches future projects such as video forums and publications. Outreach matters as TSGE works to bring younger members into the society, and this committee is the foundation of that effort. Members can also sign up as a TSGE Social Media Ambassador to help spread the word.
Regional Chapter Initiative
TSGE’s regional chapters bring members together closer to home, with events organized by area across the state — Panhandle & High Plains, West Texas, North Texas, Central Texas, Gulf Coast & Upper Gulf, and more. Find your region and see what’s happening near you.
